Trust & data
The questions a school asks, answered plainly.
Where the data lives, who processes it, who can see it, and what happens when something goes wrong. If you need something not covered here, ask us — we would rather send you the detail than a badge.

What is true today
Specifics, not slogans.
- Consent is recorded per purpose — processing, AI, daily delivery, video, training, school sharing — and any of them can be withdrawn in the app.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest; access is limited to the people who need it; every clinical action is written to an audit log.
- Our systems are built so a child's name and personal details are kept out of application logs, and a notification only ever says something is ready — never the content.
- Every AI output that reaches a child passes an automated safety check. A specialist reviews your child's plan and goals; that review covers the plan rather than every individual sentence generated during a session.
- No advertising, no data sale, no third-party analytics or trackers inside the apps.
- Videos of a child are optional, off unless you turn them on, and deleted automatically after 90 days.
- You can ask us to erase your child's records from Settings. A person confirms it with you first, so a mis-tap cannot destroy a child's record, and we then remove them from our systems and tell you when it is done.
Who processes it
Named, with what each one receives.
We use a small number of providers, each under contract and none of them permitted to use your child’s information for their own purposes: Anthropic (language), ElevenLabs (voice), Google (the pictures for lessons and stories — never names, photographs or documents), Supabase (database and files), Railway (application servers), Resend (email), MSG91 (text messages), and Apple (push notifications).
The full list, with exactly what each receives and where it operates, is in our privacy notice.
Safeguarding
When something needs a person now.
If what a child or a parent tells us suggests immediate risk, an alert goes to our on-call person by email and text message. The alert carries no names and no content — the person then opens the record and acts. Annie never handles a crisis alone.
We do not publish a guaranteed response time, because we will not promise one we cannot staff around the clock. uBelong is not an emergency service. If your child is at immediate risk, contact your local emergency services first.
What we do not claim
The honest bit.
We do not claim certifications we do not hold. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA today, and we do not display compliance badges we have not earned. What we can do is show you our actual practices, name every processor, and answer a security questionnaire in writing. If your school or clinic needs a specific agreement in place before working with us, tell us what you need and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it and when.
