Who we are

uBelong Pte. Ltd. (start@ubelong.ai) makes the uBelong parent app. It helps a parent choose a goal for their child, get a short prepared activity each day, try it at home and record how it went.

uBelong Pte. Ltd. is a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202637889R). Our registered office is at 328 North Bridge Road, #02-20, Raffles Shopping Arcade, Singapore 188719.

What we collect

Your name and email address or mobile number (to sign in). Your child's first name, date of birth (to fit activities to age) and whether your child is a boy or a girl (so Annie writes he or she). The goals you write, the notes you type or dictate, and how each activity went. Photos, videos and sound you choose to add, including videos and photos from before uBelong, and a photo of your child for their profile. The names of other people who help at home, if you add them. Technical records needed to run the service (device type, app version, crash reports).

What we do with it

We use it only to prepare and improve your child's activities and to answer your support requests. Annie's preparation runs on Anthropic's Claude under our agreement with Anthropic; Anthropic does not use your data to train its models.

Annie watches and listens to the activity clips you add and to videos from before uBelong: Anthropic's Claude reads still frames from the video and the photos, and the video's sound is transcribed by ElevenLabs so Annie can use what was said as context. ElevenLabs may keep the audio and transcript under its own privacy policy (elevenlabs.io/privacy). Annie describes only your child and never diagnoses. Activity clips are read only while you allow “Clips for Annie”, and videos and photos from before uBelong only while you allow “Videos and photos from before uBelong”, in Permissions.

Annie's voice is made by ElevenLabs. When the app reads an activity aloud, the words (which can include your child's first name) go to ElevenLabs to be spoken; when you talk with Annie, ElevenLabs hears what you say and speaks her answers, which Anthropic's Claude prepares. ElevenLabs may keep the audio under its own privacy policy (elevenlabs.io/privacy). This happens only while you allow “Activity and voice guidance” in Permissions.

When you talk with Annie through glasses, she sees one picture from the glasses when you ask her to look, and one about every 20 seconds while the glasses record during the call, so she can say what to try next. Anthropic's Claude reads each picture for Annie; the pictures are not kept.

Your child's profile photo is stored only and is not read by Annie. Dictation on your phone uses your phone maker's speech service (Apple or Google).

Annie emails you each day's activity, her notes and reminders, with your child's first name and the activity in them. They are sent through Resend, and replies you send to Annie come back through Resend for Annie to read (annie@ubelong.ai is hosted by Google Workspace). Phone notifications go through Apple's push service and Google Firebase; by default they only say that today's activity is ready.

We use the service providers described here to operate uBelong. We do not sell family data or use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

On servers run for us by Railway and Supabase, encrypted in transit. Activity clips are kept for 90 days and then deleted. Videos and photos from before uBelong are kept until you remove them or close your account. Everything else is kept while your account exists.

Your choices

You can turn Annie's processing off for a child at any time in Settings, Permissions, and turn off “Clips for Annie” or “Videos and photos from before uBelong” in Permissions (Annie stops reading them; videos and photos from before uBelong stay until you remove them).

You choose which emails and phone notifications you get, and when, in Settings, Notifications. Every email from Annie has a link to turn it off.

You can delete your account from inside the app; deletion completes within a day and removes your family's data from our systems. See how to delete your account. Write to start@ubelong.ai for a copy of your data or any question.

Children

The app is used by parents and carers, not by children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child.

This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

If you ask for the free guide, your email address is sent to our inbox (the email is delivered by Resend) so we can tell you about uBelong now and then. Write to start@ubelong.ai and we will remove it. Your browser remembers that you closed the guide pop-up; that stays on your device.

If a school asks about a pilot on the schools page, the name, email, school, country, role and message typed into the form are sent to our inbox the same way. We use them only to reply about a pilot, and delete them when you ask.

If you ask for the Android beta, the email address you type is sent to our inbox the same way. We use it only to invite you to the beta, and delete it when you ask.

We will post changes here and tell you in the app if they matter.
