Your child's data stays yours.

Effective 11 September 2026. This notice covers the uBelong parent app, the uBelong Academy app for children, and this website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

uBelong is operated by uBelong Inc., 8 The Grn, Dover, DE 19901, United States, and by UBELONG PTE LTD, Singapore, for families and schools in Singapore. You can reach a person at start@ubelong.ai or +1 864 399 4234.

The short version

• ·Nothing about your child is read or analysed until you grant consent, and you can withdraw any of it in the app.
• ·We never sell your data, never advertise to you, and never show ads to children.
• ·A named human specialist reviews what our AI produces. Annie never diagnoses.
• ·You can delete your account and your child's records from Settings.
• ·We tell you honestly which companies process your child's data, and what each one receives.

What we collect

• ·Your account — your name, email address, password (stored only as a cryptographic hash), and your phone number if you sign in by phone.
• ·Your child — their first name, date of birth or age, the answers you give about how they communicate and learn, and the school you tell us about.
• ·What you upload — assessments, reports, IEPs, school notes, and any photos or videos you add for your specialist.
• ·Learning records — every session and attempt: what your child tried, how much help arrived, what they did unaided, and the notes a specialist writes.
• ·What you write — your messages to Annie, the concerns you raise, and the notes you add after practising together.
• ·Technical — sign-in and security events, and error reports without personal content. On public website pages, optional analytics browser storage after you accept it.

We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or anything used to track you across other apps and websites.

Why we use it, and your consent

We process a child's information only after their parent or legal guardian gives consent, and only for the purpose consented to. Each purpose is separate, is recorded, and can be withdrawn in the app under You → Privacy:

• ·Processing your child's information — needed for uBelong to work at all.
• ·Letting Annie (AI) work on it, with a person supervising — reading reports, preparing sessions, drafting a plan.
• ·Delivering daily practice and sessions.
• ·Storing videos of your child for your specialist to watch — optional, and off unless you turn it on.
• ·Helping improve Annie — optional and off by default.
• ·Sharing outcomes with a school — only once you choose a school.
• ·Safeguarding disclosure — sharing a child's own words with a school's supervising specialist when a safeguarding concern requires it.

Withdrawing a consent stops the next processing that depends on it. Children do not hold uBelong accounts; the child's iPad app runs under the parent's account, and the parent controls it. uBelong is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from a child without their parent's consent.

Who else processes it

We use a small number of service providers. Each one receives only what it needs, under contract, and none of them may use your child's information for their own purposes.

Because these providers operate internationally, your information may be processed in the United States, India, Singapore and other countries where they run their services.

How long we keep it

• ·Your account and your child's records: for as long as the account is open, and until you ask us to erase them.
• ·Videos of your child: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
• ·Records of our AI calls (used for cost and quality control, without your child's content): 90 days.
• ·Documents an expert has acted on become part of the clinical record and cannot be deleted from the app alone — ask us and they go with the erasure.
• ·Server logs, which never contain names or message content: kept only as long as needed to keep the service secure and working.

Your rights, and how to use them

• ·See it — everything we hold about your child is in the app.
• ·Correct it — press and hold anything that is not right about your child. A person reviews it.
• ·Withdraw consent — You → Privacy, any purpose, any time.
• ·Delete everything — You → Settings → Delete my account and my children's records. We record the request immediately and a person confirms it with you before the erasure runs, so that a mis-tap cannot destroy a child's record. After that it is permanent: files, learning records, messages and your account are removed. A content-free note that an erasure happened is kept.
• ·Ask us anything — email start@ubelong.ai. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

Schools

A school sees only what you consent to share — the outcomes and classroom guidance that help a teacher on Monday. A school never sees your payments, your messages to Annie, or your child's raw session data. A child's own words are shared with a school only under the separate safeguarding consent above, and only with the specialist supervising that child.

Safeguarding

If something a child or a parent tells us suggests immediate risk, an alert goes to our on-call person by email and text message. That alert carries no names and no content — the person then opens the record and acts.

How we protect it

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to the people who need it, every clinical action is recorded in an audit log, and your child's personal details never appear in our system logs or in a notification. We do not claim any certification we do not hold; if you need our current security posture for a school or a clinic, ask us and we will send it.

What we never do

• ·Sell your data, or share it with data brokers.
• ·Advertise to you, or allow anyone to advertise to your child.
• ·Let AI diagnose your child, or release a plan to a child without a person approving it.
• ·Track you across other apps and websites.

India (DPDP)

For families in India, uBelong processes a child's personal data only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, for the purposes listed above, and never for advertising or tracking. You may withdraw consent, ask for correction, or ask for erasure at any time in the app or by writing to start@ubelong.ai, which is also where you can raise a grievance.

Singapore (PDPA)

Families and schools in Singapore contract with UBELONG PTE LTD, our Singapore subsidiary. We collect personal data only with your consent and only for the purposes set out above, and we do not use it for any other purpose without asking you again. Personal data is processed by the providers named above, which are located outside Singapore; we require each of them by contract to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA. You may withdraw consent, or ask for access to or correction of your personal data, at any time in the app or by writing to start@ubelong.ai, which also reaches the person responsible for our data-protection function. We will respond within 30 days, or tell you when to expect an answer.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for sign-in and your choices. If you accept optional analytics, PostHog uses browser storage to measure visits to public website pages. It does not run on account, report, operator or child-learning pages. The native apps use no advertising or analytics SDKs. Change your choice any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

Changes

If we change this notice in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
